History
The company “Ismail Hamed & Sons” began its operation in 1893 in Rangoon, Burma. Then it moved to Bombay in India and finally in 1947 after Independence from India the company settled in Karachi, Pakistan. After moving to Karachi the company faced difficult times to find stability, due to “Pakistan” being a new nation it was economically and financially unstable, but the company “Ismail Hamed & Sons” survived.
It was all because of our managing partner Late Mr. A. Sattar Ismail Moten (Justice). This company owes him everything for the hard work and all the struggles he had made so that this company “Ismail Hamed & Sons” could survive. He was instrumental to build-up a solid edifice which has earned the firm a good name in overseas markets and also due to his untiring efforts the firm has been able to receive FPCCI awards 5 times and KCCI award 1 time.
Ismail Hamed & Sons when started its operations in Karachi Pakistan it was only a trading company which dealt in textile related products. In 1960’s Ismail Hamed & Sons started its manufacturing operations, which manufactured woven fabric on hand looms and then on power looms for local market & for market in East Pakistan (Bangladesh).
The company then entered the export field in 1969 and started exporting variety of fabrics to Middle Eastern, African & Asian markets. The company made its reputation in the overseas market through providing quality products and by conducting business ethically and legitimately. The company grew and expanded, it started manufacturing “Warp knitted fabrics and Jacquard Knitted Fabrics” for overseas and local market.
In 1992 Ismail Hamed & Sons started importing and trading of Yarn and today we are proudly one of the most trusted and renowned traders of Yarn. In the following year the company also started an In-house setup for processing and finishing which has played a substantial part in the growth of the overall company. Ismail Hamed & Sons now controls all the processes from yarn to fabric & from fabric to processing and finishing.
